LIFE GOES BETTER WITH CHRIST

SELAH Daily Devotions!

 

Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? Psalm 56:12-13

 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. Ecclesiastes 9:11

 

The Bible is so real that it’s difficult to understand how too many yet consider it irrelevant to today’s contemporary society. Amassed within 66 Books, 929 chapters in the Old Testament and 260 chapters in the New Testament, GOD has captured every aspect of the human experience from eternity past, eternity present and eternity future!

Unlike many of my readers, I wasn’t born on the left-hand-back-pew of the church! In fact, I wasn’t even raised in a so-called Christian environment. Hence, I’ve lived on both sides of the Cross; therefore I’ve experienced both ends of the sin spectrum. I said all that to say,  unequivocably,  I truely believe  in the miraculous, uncomparable , incomprehensible depth and breath of God’s Grace and Mercy to transform the life of the  most ungodly into the sanctified! 

Sometimes, life comes at us fast and hits you hard! Nevertheless, how we respond to the unexpected, is ultimately a matter of perspective! King Solomon, dubbed as the wisest man in the known world, having been set-up from birth to inherit God’s riches blessings, decided to turn away from following in the footsteps of  his Father David, preferring to fulfill his fleshy lusts, eventually found himself plunging headlong into the endless pit of  darkness, desperation and dispair!

While Salvation does not guarantee automatic exemption from experiening test, trials or tragedy, as followers of Christ, we have this assurance, absolutely nothing happens that ever takes GOD by surprise!

He knows our endings from the beginning! Not one smile is ever unnoticed nor is one tear ever undocumented. (Ref. Psalm 56:8) Nothing that you’ve been thru; nothing you might be going through now escapes His Watch!  God doesn’t promise that every day will be a stroll in the park on a sunny day dancing through flowery beds of ease, but it behooves us to be content, confident that “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Ref. Hebrews 13:5)

As you voyage through The Scriptures, you’ll discover that God’s servants were tempted, tested and tried by the same tactics and schemes that we are; all launched by our common diabolical enemy, Satan. Nevertheless, they persevered and prevailed with the help of self-same Good Shepherd that’s available to you and me.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

GOD has promised to supply everything we will ever need to overcome and conquer every and any thing that attempts to resist or prevent the absolute fulfillment of every vow that He’s spoken over our lives. Don’t allow fear to limit your expectations of what GOD has prepared for you!

Don’t let your past cause you to doubt or settle for less than He’s promised! Take care that your steps don’t become slack lingering too long in what’s behind. Keep moving forward; remembering what God has for you is always in front of you!

While Life continues to be a journey into unchartered territories, keep walking; fully persuaded that you are never alone.  Yes! There will be some valleys to tread, some mountains to climb, some twists and turns to meander and some dead-ends to re-calculate from. Nevertheless, I encourage you to keep your hand in HIS HAND, confidently trusting in The Master of all Life; knowing that what’s ahead of you is always greater than anywhere you’ve been! IN THE END YOU WIN!

BELOVED, JUST KEEP WALKING, LOVING, LEARNING, LEANING AND LIVING! …LIFE GOES BETTER WITH CHRIST!

GOOD MORNING FAM! GOTTA MOMENT? WOW!

Welcome 2 today! Our Heavenly Father has blessed u to be alive one more day! And for that, please join us as we exalt The Glorious Name of Jesus 2gether as is our custom on Thursdays’ Corporate Prayer and Fasting! Many are afflicted by a multiplicity of the cares of this world; yet Our Heavenly Father offers us the antidote to the maladies of this life. Therefore as James 5:13 instructs, let’s pray!

 

Welcome Holy Spirit! We are in Your Presence! Fill us with Your Power! Live inside of Me! You’re my Living Water! Never ending Fountain; Comforter and Counselor, take complete control! Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God our Father! There is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thy changes not; Thy compassion fail not; as Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be! Morning by morning new mercies I see; ALL I HAVE NEEDED THY HAND HATH PROVIDED—GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS, LORD UNTO ME!

 

Heavenly Father, we come before You this day with hands raised in obeisance worshipful praise and hearts overflowing with joyful adoration! We thank You for being our Creator. Abba Father, we’re eternally grateful that You called us with a Holy calling, from our Mother’s womb, ordained us to be a child of Your Holy Family!  We’re forever thankful that from our Mother’s womb until this very moment You have been with us, providing all we’ve needed pertaining to life and godliness! We recognize that You Alone have kept us alive! For it is in You that we live, in You that we move. It’s in You that we have our very existence!

 

We bless You Heavenly Father, for even while we were yet sinners, Your Grace and tender mercies sustained us until You opened the eyes of our understanding revealing to us Your Wondrous Glory in the Face of Your Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus! You have been our Holy Habitation, shielding us from hurt and harm, dangers seen and unseen. You have been our God, Guide and Guard! When we look back over our lives, we can indubitably say, Lord, You have been better to me than I have been to myself and assuredly better than we could ever be to You!

 

Because of Your Omnipresence, Omniscience and Omnipotence and Your Faithful Obedience to please The Heart of The Father by sacrificing Your Life in our stead, You rightfully reign as The Great High Priest! Therefore, we humbly  submit our souls to You, acknowledging the honor and privilege that we have been afforded to once again entreat Your Awesome Presence, with a holy-confident-boldness, casting all of our care upon You, trusting and believing that You Who care for us and will also perfect everyone of our concerns, according to Your Righteousness and Faithful Compassion!

 

We bow gratefully, crushed by the awareness of our own iniquities, before You, empty and void of anything that would warrant such awesome graciousness, but because of  Your Righteousness, we are now the beneficiary of All that You are in the eyes of Almighty God!

 

Lord,  knowing that You already know everything about every single one of us and because You walked among us, allowing Yourself to be tempted at all points as we are, You learned what we experience in these earthly tabernacles and can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities! Hence, You are able to intercede on our behalf; continuously searching and conveying the thoughts, intents, emotions and physical weaknesses that we’re often unable to articulate to The Father of All Grace, Compassion and Comfort! We thankya Lord, for being our Very Present Help!

 
Precious Lord, while we try to please You by trusting in Your Word, sometimes, it’s difficult to over-ride the noise of the pestilence, the chaos of uncertainty and the pain of condemnation, guilt, shame, rejection, discrimination and systematic injustice that seems to lure us into the valleys shadowed with death, danger, fear, anger, bitterness, anxiety, hopelessness and self-doubt! That’s why we gladly run to You, daily finding oasis of refuge, respite, peace and restoration  that You have prepared for any who would come to You earnestly expecting You will never deny Your Word!

 

Precious Jesus, as You search our hearts and minds, forgive us of every act, intent, thought or word that we have done that is contrary to Your Divine Will. We trust that You are faithful and just to look beyond the frailness, faultiness and flaws of our fickled flesh to forgive us and  wash us again in The Redeeming Blood of Jesus Christ, restoring the intimacy of our fellowship with You as Lord of our lives!

 

Sweet Jesus, because no man can come to You, except You draw him, we intercede for all those who are yet unsaved! Break up their stony hearts and ignite a Spirit of Godly-repentance that they may confess “a sincere Yes” in their hearts and minds! Quicken a desire to come to You today and receive You as their personal Savior and Lord!

 

Lord, as Your eyes continue searching the hearts of mankind,  put a “committed YES” in the hearts and minds of every backslider that today will be their day to run back into Your Longing Arms and to YOUR local church where they will be fully submission to the loving, nurturing teachings of Your Word, determining to live out the rest of their lives exemplifying The Wonders of Your Glory to a lost and dying world!

 
Holy Father, touch our brother, touch our sister who has been afflicted by any sickness and disease, including the spirit of cancer, kidney, lung, heart and liver failure, fibromyalgia, high/low blood pressure, satanically-induced perversions, addictions and mental disorders! Rebuke and cast it out at the root, for Your Name Sake!

 

We pray, Lord Jesus, believing that Holy Spirit will console, comfort, strengthen and heal all whose lives are yet being devastated by the recent storms, hurricanes, earthquakes and the ruthless acts of domestic terrorist in our nation and around this world! Reassure them, that there’s never a spot where Your Loving Arms cannot reach,deliver and restore them from any challenge that confronts them. 

 
As we come into agreement with your Word, declaring that by Your stripes we have been redeemed and healed, we stand firmly on Your Promise that the prayers of faith shall save the sick and raise them up, In Jesus Name! And as You are strengthening these, we ask that you also invigorate, encourage and replenish the spirits, minds and bodies of those who are charged to care for their loved ones!

 

Abba Father, preserve Your children thru every test and trial; keep us aware of YOUR PRESENCE, fully-persuaded to trust in You with all of their hearts, patiently leaning and depending on You, believing that trouble does have an expiration date and that at Your appointed time, You will bring us out wholly restored, renewed, refreshed and with the reward as You have promised them in Your Word!

 

Father,  we commit the lives of our children, grandchildren and great-grand children to a thousand generations, declaring and decreeing by faith that every scheme that Satan desires to inflict upon them is REPEALED AND CANCELLED immediately! We plead The Blood of Jesus over them wherever they go, entrusting them to Your Providential care! Abba Father, because we realize that You have a plan and purpose for their lives also, we have the blessed assurance that their steps and stops are being divinely orchestrated by Your eyes, NO WEAPON THAT IS FORMED AGAINST THEM SHALL PROSPER, in Jesus Name Amen 3x!

 

Father, we lift up every spiritual leader, asking that You encourage their faithfulness and grant an immediate manifestation of that special miracle for each and every one of them who are yet standing on the wall proclaiming Your Word under the convicting Power and Anointing of Holy Spirit! Sweet Jesus, Grace them to be the examples in their homes, churches and community that will cause everyone who comes into contact with them to fall in love with You, trust wholly in and commit to live their lives faithfully and obediently serving You!

 

As You Sovereignly Rule and Reign over the affairs of mankind, we’re praying for the leaders of our nation, government, corporate, judicial, educational, health care providers and every arena of our society! We’re asking  You  to touch their minds and infiltrate their hearts, speaking to them in dreams and visions alerting let them that The Goverment Rests Upon Your Shoulders and You Who Sit Enthroned Above the Heavens are keeping record of the deeds of every man’s heart and will reward accordingly!
Endow the hearts of Your people with a peace that surpasses all understanding and a confident expectation that our times are in Your Hands and regardless of the deceitfulness of this world, You have promised to protect, provide and preserve the righteous who trust and obey Your Word! We pray for restoration inbroken marital and family relationship! We ask that You continue opening the eyes of our understanding so that Your people are not easily deceived by those who would desire to entrap Your elect in bondage to anything which You have delivered us from! In Jesus Name, Amen 3x!
Abba Father, confirm Your Promises to us byconstanly manifesting signs of Your Goodness to us, that our enemies may see and be put to shame. For You, O Lord who searches minds and hearts will continue to shield, help, comfort and save Your servants whose hearts are upright before You.
Father, we declare and decree that every demonic-induced spirit of destruction, temptation, addiction, rejection, self-hate, suicide, fear and failure is already defeated by Your Anointing and that the Spirit of Love, Power and Sound-mindedness is being released now, in Jesus Name! We declare and decree that He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. He who digs a hole and scoops it out will fall into the pit he has made. The trouble he causes recoils on himself and his violent schemes will come down on his own head!

 

Father, we rejoice in confident quietness, trusting wholly that all workers of iniquity are trembling and suddenly departing in shameful defeat! You have heard the voice of our weeping and our supplications and received our prayers as sweet savor coming up before Your Sovereign Throne of Grace, therefore You will not withhold Your Mercy from us! Your Love and Your Truth is a wall around us!

 

Abba Father, we align our spirits, soul and body with Your Eternal Word! Believing that our requests and supplications are done, we bow reverently before The Hope of all Heavens and Earth, believing that as Your face shines upon us that, You are making Your Ways and Salvation known among all nations! You Guide and Rule justly! Father, we seal this prayer In The Exalted Name of Jesus with our Alleleujah! Amen 3X!

 

Now every child of God who is standing in agreement with this prayer, GO TELL SOMEBODY THAT JESUS LOVES EVERYBODY AND CAN SAVE ANYBODY! #Didjaheardat?

GM Precious Children of The Most High God! GOTTA MOMENT? AWESOME!

We’re delighted that you’ve joined us, once again, in our Weekly Thursdays’ Corporate Fasting and Prayer! Needless to say, there’s yet so much to seek The Face of God for, Amen? But Thanks Be To God, in the midst of soul-vexing times, we know Where to go and Who to call on to find Love, Peace, Hope and Rest for our weary souls! For we have a Heavenly FATHER Who CARES! Let’s enter into The Throne Room together…

 

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll;Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, IT IS WELL, IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL! IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL, IT IS WELL, IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL…Bow down and worship Him! Worship Him! Oh, worship Him! Bow down and worship Him; Enter in! Oh, enter in! Consuming fire; Sweet perfume. His awesome presence fills this room! THIS IS HOLY GROUND! THIS IS HOLY GROUND! THIS IS HOLY GROUND! SO COME AND BOW DOWN …

 

Father of All Glory, Honor, Comfort, Strength, Wisdom and Joy, into thine Hands, we lift up our souls! For we know that You are LORD of Heaven and Earth! Besides Thee, there is none else to save, deliver and heal! We extol Your  HOLY Name above every other name that can be named! As You have decreed, we exalt Your Word, even above Your Name! Thank You for blessing us to enjoy one more day of Your Presence and Providential Care! Thank You for revealing to us such wondrous treasures that were hidden from our understanding, when we walked surrounded by darkness, as dead men in the earth without a God on our side! We bless You for we know that it’s IN YOU that we live, move and have our being! 

We come before You now, humbled by Your Loving-kindness, clothed in assurance that because of The Precious Blood that was shed on Calvary’s Cross, the Scepter is always extended towards Your Children, allowing us to come boldly before The Majestic Throne to find Hope and Help in the time of need, in the Name of JESUS!

Abba Father,  forgive our tendency towards willfully relinquishing our faith to do, think and speak those things that are not pleasing in Your sight! We’re eternally grateful that because of The Sacrificial Atoning Death and Resurrection of Jesus, Your Compassionate Faithfulness and Deep Love for us, allows You to look beyond our faults and failures, forgive us our sin, cleanse our hearts and hands in The Blood of Jesus, restoring our rightful fellowship and satisfy all our need, according to Your Riches in Glory!

Today,  we offer up glorious praise, from hearts open to, depending and relying only on You for renewed power, strength and understanding to apply Your statues to our lives that we may enjoy the abundant lives that You have predestined for us now and forever!

Lord Jesus, because YOU ARE LORD, there is never a space or time when YOU are not in absolute contr ol of all things! Your WORD promised to keep us hidden under The BLOOD! Hence, just as You provided Light and Provision for Your people in Goshen, even in these days of imminent terror, tragedy, chaos and destruction, famine, wars and rumors of war, we know that the safest place in this whole world is in YOUR perfect Will!  We trust that no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper and every tongue that rises up against Your children, thou shall condemn!

Sweet Jesus, because no man can come to the Father except You draw them, we interceded on behalf of every unsaved soul, asking You to quicken the Spirit of Godly-repentance into their heart and in their mind that they will come to You today confessing with their mouths “a sincere Yes” to your Gift of Grace and receive You now as their personal Savior and Lord! We’re believing that You are directing their footsteps, placing and settling them into a local church home today where they will be nurtured and encouraged to live holy, acceptable and committed to faithful obedience to Your Word!

Precious Lord, we ask You reclaim every soul that has turned their back and walked away from Your Will! Plant a new “commitment YES” in the soil of their hearts and minds! Make today the day that they come back to You and back to The Body of Christ where they will submit their lives to the sound teachings of Your Word, learn to love and live their lives denying the lust of their flesh, walking daily to please and Glorify You to this lost, dark and dying world!

Abba Father, we pray that You will touch our brother, touch our sister whose body has been afflicted by all manner of sickness and disease, rebuke and cast it out at the root, for Your Name Sake! Heavenly Father,  we know that You are Alpha and Omega, the same yesterday, today and forever! Even as You walked in this earth healing all who were sick, feeble, lame we know that You’re Well Able to do the same right now! Lord Jesus, Your Word declares that Your stripes have redeemed and healed us and we’re yet standing on Your promises that the prayer of faith shall save the sick and raise them up, In Jesus Name! Amen 3x!

Lord, we lift up every believer who is struggling to hold on to Your Word of faith today, trusting that You to release Divine Power, Supernatural Hope, Strength, Health,  Wholeness, Provision, Prosperity and Protection. Father! We’re trusting You to preserve each and everyone of us thru the tests that we must go thru, keeping our minds constantly stayed on YOUR PRESENCE, fully-confident that at Your appointed time,You will bring us out wholly restored, renewed, refreshed and with every reward as You have promised in Your Word.

Sweet Jesus, while Your Word tells us that You’ve not given us the Spirit of Fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, You knowing the frailness and fickleness of our flesh, know we’re proned to give into the piercing temptations of Satan’s thorns, leaving our hearts filled with anxiety, stress, disappointment, doubt, hopelessness, rejection and unbelief! But You’ve assured us that You have not left us comfortless, but You’ve sent Holy Spirit to abide IN us, empowering us to escape and overcome the plots of the wicked! For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but Mighty Thru God to pull down the strongholds, cast down perverted images and illicit seductions that entice us to leave the path of righteousness, turn back to and again enslave us in bondage to the will and ways of the Kingdom of Darkness!

It is with exceeding Joy, that we stand with boldness, in The Holy Ghost, anchored in Hope and Love, grounded in our right mind, clothed in the full armor of God, anointed and authorized to pull down every strong hold that the enemy shall attempt to take us captive to! By the Power invested in us, we bind the works of the enemy; we bind the works of the flesh, every plan, plot, scheme and we REBUKE AND BIND every satanic-induced plan, ungodly spirits of poverty, lack, unholy desire and want! We CANCEL, REPEAL & REPLACE every curse that has been spoken against the children of God,  and RELEASE blessings and increase in every area of our lives, in The Name  LORD JESUS!

Father, as we lift up our children, our children’s children; by faith we cancel every scheme that Satan desires to inflict upon them, as we’re committing them into Your Providential Care and Protection, we release a Spirit of Truth and Excellence upon their spirit, souls, minds and bodies! In Jesus Name, Amen 3x! We gratefully acknowledge that You have a plan and purpose for their lives too’ therefore, we have the Blessed Assurance that even when we can’t see them, their steps are being ordered by Your eyes!

Heavenly Father, as instructed, we lift up the government/legislative leaders of every nation of this world, judicial, corporate, education, financial, food service, public service and health care institutional leaders! We’re asking that You touch their minds and hearts, speak to them in dreams and visions letting them know that You Who Sit Sovereignly Enthroned Above the Heavens are keeping record of the deeds of every man’s heart and will reward accordingly! We believe that because their hearts are in Your Hands, they are being continuously opened to hear and obey Your Will! Lord Jesus, we’re standing on Your Word as decreed that The government of this world shall rest upon Your shoulders because You are The Eternal King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Abba, we lift up every Bishop, Pastor, Overseer, Apostle, Evangelist, Minister, Missionary, Preacher and Teacher. Undergird them with Your Anointing and conviction to carry out their assignment, under the direction of Holy Spirit. Cover them as they go in and out amongst Your people and those who would seek to discredit, hinder and even destroy their faith, faithfulness and ministry,You have ordained. Grace them to be the holy humble examples in their homes, marketplace, communities and churches that will cause those who are in their sphere of influence to fall deeply in love with JESUS, and the people of God, fully committed to love, trust and live everyday of life serving and glorifying You, Our Heavenly Father!

Father, we’re trusting You to release a downpour of Divine Favor upon every one of Your children who are challenged by seemingly time-sensitive situations such as sickness and disease, mental disorders, abuse, rejection, oppression, depression, marital relationships, unholy soul-ties, wayward children, loneliness, financial, employment and promotion issues, approvals of student/car/home loans!

Lord Jesus, as Your children await Your Salvation in confident quietness, we rejoice in exuberant hope, trusting wholly that all workers of iniquity are trembling, suddenly departing in shameful defeat, recognizing that You have heard the voice of our weeping, our supplications and received our prayer as a sweet savor coming up before Your Sovereign Throne of Grace and Mercy!

Abba Father, as we align our spirits, soul and body with Your Eternal Word, we shout with joy unto The One to Whom all men will come! We bow in obedient reverence before The Hope of all the earth, believing that as Your face shines upon us that, You are making Your ways and salvation known among all nations for You Guide and Rule justly! Father, believing that IT IS DONE! In The Exalted Name of Jesus we offer up this prayer! Alleleujah! Amen 3X!

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:1-8

 

Unless you were born late last night or just landed on Planet Earth early this morning, you’ve probably already recognized that real-life comes at you hard and fast! It matters not whether you’ve been walking with Jesus for a long time or just recently made a decision to follow Christ! Truthfully, none of us are excluded from life’s faith-stresses aka test and trials! In fact, The Holy Writ is ladened with numerous accountings to alert even the most sincerest of faith-talking-faith-walking-Christians among us, to expect trying times to pop-up when you least expect them!

The Apostle Paul describes life as a race, and we soon discover that it’s not a sprint, but a marathon! However, unlike The Boston Marathon, God doesn’t usually let us in on the specifics that we’ll encounter along the way that could potentially hinder, even derail our progress, ultimately keeping us from finishing our course.

Perhaps, it’s because the Omniscient One knows that if we had foreknowledge, most of us would re-calculate our journey to suit own will, or worst yet, start looking to external resources, other than GOD, to be our help!

Yes! We all experience those seasons when it feels like our lives are being torpedoed by Satan’s inferno darts, coupled with the tolls of living in this fallen world, even to the point where our own flesh turns against us and we ‘re almost persuaded that GOD has obviously just abandoned us in the valley of the shadows of death, hopelessly desperate to fend for ourselves, huh?

But, The Psalmist, David, having personally triumphantly trampled through turbulent terrains many times, extends to us this olive-branch of hope-filled-encouragement, don’t give up! Despite of what it looks like, never stop trusting God!

Why? Because David knew what Satan never wants us to know, that no matter what the enemy throws at you, we have a Forever Faithful Refuge on our side and HIS NAME IS JESUS!

The next time (and there will be a next time), the enemy tries to convince you that it’s over, defeat is imminent, there’s no place to run, no place to hide, everything you once stood on has now turned to sinking sand, TRUST2KNO, God Alone is your Impregnable Mountain of Righteousness!

“Everyday is not the same!” These were the words from a faithful friend to me to encourage me at a time when I found myself drowning in raging waters, attempting to maneuver my way through the valley overshadowed by Dred and Death! In retrospect, I’m almost tempted to say, “Sir, is dat ever an understatement!”

Who knu?  I never would’ve dare to imagine that one day, I’d be the one offering these same words to fellow sojourners along my path as a breath of refreshing wind to wayfaring souls hoping to console their storm-wearied hearts to keep moving, keep trusting, keep believing because NOW IS NOT FOREVER and GOD IS TOO FAITHFUL FOR YOU TO GIVE UP NOW! GOD IS Awemaazin, huh?

My sincere prayer is that the treasured words of today’s text,  inspired by Holy Spirit, serve as a compass leading you to The True Source of Comfort and Peace as they remind us of The Eternal Truth and Faithfulness of every Word that proceeds out of God’s Mouth! 

The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. Psalm 119:160

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Beloved, only God knows what challenges you are facing at this writing, yet I hear the Saints of ol’ saanging ‘I Go To The Rock!’ It was those soul-stirring songs that taught us that when the cares of this ol’ world overwhelm us, there is an escape, a safe house that we can run into and be saved from the threatening terror! Hence, we can run to the Mountain That is Higher than you and I!

My precious one, can we pray?

“Heavenly Father, here we are again bowing at The Throne of Your Mercy! We’re so grateful for the honor and privilege to come boldly, knowing that You hear and answer every petition, supplication and inquiry we place before You.

We’re praying for the strength of The people of God, that we might be encouraged to stand strong, continue lifting up The Blood Stained Banner of our Lord and Savior. Trusting confidently that He Who Rules and Reigns above The Heavens, is in ABSOLUTE CONTROL of the affairs of all mankind! We’re praying for the leaders of our country, fully persuaded that their hearts remain in God’s Hand, confident that The Omniscient Father never sleeps nor slumbers, is never taken by surprise, neither does He ever need to repent! EVERYTHING HE HAS PROMISED, HE WILL PERFORM!

We’re praying for our children, every parent who has been charged to instruct and rear them up in the fear and admonition of THE LORD will submit to the leading of Holy Spirit, walk upright before them that they may see our faith and commitment to THE GOD OF ALL HOPE!

We’re praying for those who are yet in darkness, being deceived by Satan into rejecting The Saving Grace of The Lord Jesus Christ will be snatched from the snares of sinfulness and repent before GOD, seeking forgiveness and salvation. We’re believing that the hearts of the backsliders will be pricked by The Spirit of The Living God so that they will make a decision to return to Jesus TODAY!

We’re praying for the comfort of those who are dealing with grief, depression, loneliness, fear, addictions, confusion, overwhelmed by financial commitments, sickness and diseases. We’re believing that the angels of the Lord are being sent to their sides to minister help, health and hope at this very moment.

We’re rejoicing in reality that the companionship of The Lord of All Comfort, Joy and Peace is never too far away and that HE can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities.

We’re eternally grateful, Father, that regardless of what each day brings, YOU OH GOD REMAIN THE SAME, YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER FAITHFUL to protect and provide everthing we ever need.

ABBA FATHER, we’re thanking You now for Your Compassionate Loving Kindness, Tender Mercies and Unconditional Love that never leaves us nor forsakes those who place their personal trust in JESUS ALONE! THE SOLID ROCK!

We’re asking these things, recognizing that it’s because of The Majestic Name of Jesus that we yet rest assured in Hope, earnestly anticipating that it shall be so. In Jesus Name. AMEN 3X

Mornin Yall! Have I evvrr got some good news 4 u! No, seriously, check this out!

So we are Christ’s Ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “COME BACK TO GOD!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 
WHOAAHHH! Didjaheardat?

That’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ! God has made a way for us to be saved from the just penalty of our sin 4 evvvrrrr! I mean, once and for all! I know, sounds too good to be true, BUT IT IS! 

Beloved, Jesus took our place and now all that is required for us to come back into right relationship to God is prayerfully confessing with our mouths…AND True hearts…“FATHER I DO! I need a Savior… try as I might, I can’t save myself or live good enough to deserve Your forgiveness; but at Your Word, I humbly receive the sacrifice of JESUS, in my stead. With all of my heart, I now ask You to forgive me for my sin and make me Your child forever!” In Jesus Name! Amen 3x!”

Now precious one, if you sincerely believe that Jesus is The Son of God, Who loved you so much, that He freely shed His Blood, went thru HELL and three days later was resurrected from the dead, to ransom you back from the clutches of the Kingdom of Darkness, Death and Destruction, then guess what? IT’S A DONE DEAL!

Unless you were born late last nite, or jus arrived on planet Earth, early this morning, you already know it’s getting darker and darker out there! #ijs! Once again,  we’re so excited that you have joined us in our Weekly Thursdays’ Day of Corporate Fasting and Prayer! The Bible tells us that some things can only be released through effective fervent fasting and prayer. In deed we must all agree that we need to pray more NOW THAN EVER BEFORE! Let’s enter into The Majestic Throne Room of The Lord and Creator of Life!

HE’s sweet I know, Jesus is sweet I know! Storm clouds may rise; strong winds may blow! But, I’ll tell the world, wherever I go, that I’ve found my Savior…and HE’S SWEET I KNOW! OOOHH SWEET WONDER! OOOOHHH SWEET WONDER! JESUS! THE SON OF GOD! I really love the Lorrrddd…I REALLY LOVE THE LORD! U DON’T KNOW WHAT HE’S DONE FOR ME! HE GAVE ME THE VICTORYYYY! I LUV HIM! I LUV HIMMMM!   I REALLY LLLUUUUVVVVVV THE LORD! 

WE’RE PRAYING, TRUSTING, BELIEVING & DECLARING….

Abba Father, we come before You today, not in our own righteousness but in the Magnificent, All Powerful Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus! As we come clothed in humble obedience, we’re rejoicing, praising and thanking You for blessing us to see this brand new day. We’re sooo grateful Heavenly Father for one more opportunity to embrace and enjoy the Abundance of Your Faithfulness, Mercy, Your Grace, Your Power and Your Peace!

Daddy, we thank You for being The Lord of our Salvation, Deliverance, Hope, Breakthrough and Provision. We’re eternally thankful that because You know our frame, Your faithfulness and compassion allows You to look beyond our human frailties, faults and iniquities! Therefore, as we seek Your forgiveness, we’re convinced that You, knowing our hearts ,will continue to supply and minister to all of our need!

We praise You today Lord, for renewing our strength, encouraging our hearts, enlightening our understanding. We recognize that You alone are able to search the secret things, and even when our hearts condemn us, Your Lovingkindness is greater than our broken and contrite spirits! As we come to the end of ourselves, we draw near to You, repenting, open, relying and depending wholly on the Faithfulness of Your Word!

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that no man can come to You except You draw them! Therefore, as we intercede on behalf of every unsaved soul, we’re asking that as Your eyes continue to search the hearts of mankind, quicken our hearts and minds with the Spirit of Godly-repentance that all will cry out to You, professing a ‘SINCERE YES LORD’ to your Mercy and Grace and receive You as personal Lord and Savior today. As you draw them near to You, Father we’re believing that You will save them because it’s not Your Will that any should perish, but that all would run to receive Your Saving Grace! Father, as You pick them up, we’re believing that You’re directing their footsteps to a local Church home where they will be settled, nourished, and taught how to live out their lives pleasing and glorifying You!

Abba Father, we pray for every backslider who has walked away from the fold for whatever reason! Your Word assures us that You have never issued a divorce decree from any who has come into covenant relationship with You. We ask that Holy Spirit prick the heart and mind of those who have fallen prey to the Accuser’s lie right now. Let them know that You’re looking, waiting with Your arms open wide to receive them in joyful celebration as they return to Your Kingdom! Lord, plant a ‘commited Yes’ into their hearts and minds that restores and empowers them to be a Faithful witness to a lost and dying wold, In Jesus Name! Amen 3X!

Sweet Jesus, touch our brother, touch our sister whose body has been afflicted by all manner of sickness and disease, especially the spirit of cancer, heart, kidney, lung, liver, bone disease, scoliosis, HIV/AIDS, drug and alcohol addictions, mental oppression and depression, Alzheimer, dementia, Autism, strokes, high/low blood pressure! Lord, Your Word has taught us that if we can have it, You can HEAL IT! Lord, we know that You are the same GOD who walked the shores of Galilee and have the same Power today to rebuke and cast it out at the root, for Your Name Sake! Lord, we come into agreement with Your Word declaring that Your stripes have redeemed and healed us and we’re yet standing on your promises that the prayer of faith shall save the sick and raise them up, In Jesus Name!

Lord, as we lift up every believer who is experiencing grief, anxiety and weariness, those who have been victimized by senseless killings, those who are caretakers of ailing loved ones, those who are struggling to remain hopeful as they sit at the bedsides of those whom the doctors have gone as far as they know, yet today they’re determined to hold on to Your Hand by faith today! Father, we ask that You remember our brothers and sisters whose lives have been ripped apart by storms, floods, earthquakes, fires and  mudslides; both naturally and spiritually!

Abba Father, we declare and agree that as we are yet praying, You are releasing Divine Power, Supernatural strength, Health, Provision, Prosperity and Protection. We Thankya Father, that as You preserve them thru the tests, keep them constantly aware of YOUR PRESENCE, and fully-confident that while weeping may endure for a nite, unspeakable joy does come in the morning! Holy Spirit, comfort us with Your Peace that passes all understanding, convincing every wounded -wearied souls that at the appointed time, You shall bring them out wholly restored, renewed, refreshed and with the reward as You have promised them in Your Word.

Father, we lift up our children, our children’s children; by faith we cancel every scheme that Satan desires to inflict upon them, as we’re committing them into Your Providential Care and Protection, we release a Spirit of Truth and Excellence upon their spirit, souls, minds and bodies! In Jesus Name, Amen 3x! We  gratefully acknowledge that You have a plan and purpose for their lives too’ therefore, we have the Blessed Assurance that even when we can’t see them, their steps are being ordered by Your eyes!

Holy Spirit, we thank You for an outpouring of Your Divine Favor upon each and every one of your children who are seeking employment, promotion, prompt approval for student/car/home loans and assure them that YOU are, Jehovah Jareh, who shall supply all of their need according to Your Riches in Glory!

Abba Father, stir up the hearts and minds of those who are professing Your Name that they will have a desire for an even greater personal, intimate relationship with The Redeemer of Souls, through fellowship of Holy Spirit that they might prove what is the good, perfect and acceptable will of The Lord Jesus!

Heavenly Father, we lift up the government/legislative leaders of every nation of this world, judicial, corporate, education, financial, food service, public service and health care institutional leaders! We’re asking that You touch their minds and hearts, speak to them in dreams and visions letting them know that You Who Sit Sovereignly Enthroned Above the Heavens are keeping record of the deeds of every man’s heart and will reward accordingly! We believe that because their hearts are in Your Hands, they are being continuously opened to hear and obey Your Will! Lord Jesus, we’re standing on Your Word as decreed that The government of this world shall rest upon Your shoulders because You are The Eternal King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Abba, we lift up every Bishop, Pastor, Overseer, Apostle, Evangelist, Minister, Missionary, Preacher and Teacher. Undergird them with Your Anointing and conviction to carry out their assignment, under the direction of Holy Spirit. Cover them as they go in and out amongst Your people and those who would seek to discredit, hinder and even destroy their faith, faithfulness and ministry,You have ordained. Grace them to be the holy humble examples in their homes, marketplace, communities and churches that will cause those who are in their sphere of influence to fall deeply in love with JESUS, and the people of God, fully committed to love, trust and live everyday of life serving and glorifying You, Our Heavenly Father!

Abba Father, we decree that every demonic-induced spirit of fear, failure, rejection, hopelessness and disappointment is defeated by Your Anointing and that the Spirit of Love, Power and Soberness is being released now, in Jesus Name! We’re declaring and trusting that each morning Your children will awaken empowered with assuring Grace to accomplish every assignment and sleep peacefully every nite, confident of brand new hope-filled tomorrows!

Father, we wait in confidence and quietness, rejoicing in hope and trusting wholly that all workers of iniquity are trembling and suddenly departing in shame, turning away from Your people, terrorized because You have heard the voice of our weeping, our supplications and received our prayer as a sweet savor coming up before Your Sovereign Throne of Grace and Mercy!

Heavenly Father, we close this prayer with a THANKYA JESUS AND A HOLY HALLELUJAHH 2 YAH, BELIEVING THAT IT IS DONE! In The Exalted Name of Jesus! Amen 3x and IT IS SO!

We appreciate every opportunity that God allows us to entreat The Presence of our Great High Priest to pour out our hearts desires, petitions and supplications with Thanksgiving. We appreciatively acknowledge that our Heavenly Father delights in our embracing Him in earnest expectation, confident that He Reigns Forever by His Power and is willing and able to save and deliver us from any of life’s maladies! Shall we enter in?

Our Father and our God! Creator of Heaven and Earth, once again, we come before You humbled by Your Loving-Kindness, Grace and Mercy! We’re eternally grateful for one more opportunity to behold The Glory of Your Majestic Presence! We know that it’s only Your Wisdom and Strength that has allowed us to be alive today! We thank You for revealing to us such wondrous treasures that were hidden from our understanding, when we walked surrounded by darkness, as dead men in the earth and without a God on our side! For this cause we bow in humble awe!

Abba Father, we come with joy-filled hearts, upstretched hands and lips forever magnifying and adoring You! Oh, how awesome are Your works amongst the children of men! For it is You Who preserve our lives and keep our feet from slipping!

Daddy, we thank You, for even knowing our frame, Your Faithful Compassion continuously allows You to look beyond our human frailties, faults, failures and iniquities seeing yet You minister to all of our need and even bless us with the desires of our hearts, as You see fit! We honor and praise You today, from a heart open to, depending and relying solely on You for renewed power, strength and understanding to apply Your righteous statues to our lives that we may enjoy the abundant lives that You have predestined for us now and forever!

Abba Father, kneeling our hearts before You, we ask You to forgive us for every act that we have committed, willfully and unwillfully, every word spoken or thought that was not pleasing in Your sight, causing grief to Holy Spirit! We believe, according to Your Promise that as we confess and repent from a heart of sincerity, that You are Faithful and Just to forgive us, remove our sins from us, casting them into the Sea of Your Selective Forgetfulness, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness through The Word and the Blood!

Lord Jesus, help us to rest assured that YOU ARE SOVEREIGN and always in absolute control of all things. In light of the continuous influx of profound arrogance,  the deceitfulness of ungodly-mankind, legalized immorality perpetrated upon Your people from ‘the powers that be’, and the revolting of the heavens, winds, earth and seas erupting all around us, encourage our hearts to cling to TRUTH! Bless us to find and affirm that Your Grace is sufficient to keep us saved, safe and sane! Father, in times when we find ourselves swallowed up in the cares of this world and overwhelmed by sadden hearts and wearied spirits, please convict and strengthen our hearts that we may never fail to express our gratitude for Your Faithfulness to keep every covenant-promise You’ve ever decreed over those who place our personal faith in You! You are Good and Your Mercy endures Forever!

We Thank You, Jesus for hiding Your Beloved under The BLOOD! And as You provided Light and Provision for Your people in Goshen, even as we endure these days of imminent terror, tragedy, chaos and destruction, we know that the safest place in this whole world is in YOUR perfect will! Therefore, we trust that no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper and every tongue that rises up again your children, thou shall condemn!

Lord, we pray for every one who is going thru a season of sorrow and grief at the lost of a loved one, those who are being victimized by institutionalized racism and systemic intimidation, Spirits of fear, rejection, disappointment and failure, divorce, lost of employment, bankruptcy and illegal foreclosures! We plead the Blood of Jesus over every demonic thought and prohibit demonic-induced assignments, spirits of anxiety, oppression, depression and confusion, because we know that You are not the author of these satanic thoughts and feelings, but You have given us who have put our personal trust in Your Son Jesus, Your Righteousness, a Spirit of Love, Peace, Joy and a Sound Mind!

Sweet Holy Spirit, because no man can come to the Father except You draw them, we interceded on behalf of every unsaved soul, asking You to quicken The Spirit of Godly-repentance in their heart and in their mind that they will come crying out to You, confessing with their mouths a “SINCERE YES” , accepting Your Grace Gift and are now receiving You as their personal Savior and Lord of their lives from this day forward! We’re believing, declaring and decreeing, that You are directing their footsteps, placing and settling them into a local church home where they are nurtured and encouraged to live holy, acceptable and committed to faithful obedience to Your Word!

Sweet Jesus, we ask You reclaim every soul that has turned their back and walked away from Your Will! Put a new “COMMITTED YES” in their heart, mind and soul and let today be the day that they come back to You and come back to The Body of Christ where they will submit their lives to the sound teachings of Your Word, learn to love and live their lives denying the lust of their flesh, walking daily to please and Glorify You to this lost, dark and dying world!

Father, as we pray, we believe that You will touch our brother, touch our sister whose body has been afflicted by all manner of sickness and disease, rebuke and casting it out at the root, for Your Name Sake! Heavenly Father, You are Alpha and Omega, the same yesterday, today and forever! Even as You walked in this earth healing all who were sick, feeble, lame we know that You’re Well Able to do the same right now! Lord Jesus, Your Word declares that Your stripes have redeemed and healed us and we’re yet standing on Your promises that the prayer of faith shall save the sick and raise them up, In Jesus Name! Amen 3x!

Lord, we pray that You will save, heal and deliver speedily by Your Mighty Hand, all those who are crying out to you, seeking Your Face at the very moment! Give us to know that because we belong to You, we are never too far that You can’t see us, reach us, and shield us from anything that the devil would rail against us. Help us to understand that Your Name, Jesus is a Strong Tower, and those that You hve declared the righteous run into it and are saved. Open up our minds and our hearts, filling us with Your Assurance, and confidence that at The Name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord!

Abba Father, grace Your children with hope-filled trust that because You have committed Your Word towards us, no weapon that’s formed us shall ever prosper and except You allow it, no trouble, test or trial can come near us. Therefore, we are fully persuaded of Your Providential Presence and Power to turn everything around to work in our favor, to bring about exuberant testimonies and praizes of Your Eternal Magnificence, Honor and Glory!

Heavenly Father,  we pray, according to Your Will, lifting up the leaders of our nation, government, corporate, judicial, education, financial institutions and our churches! We’re asking that You touch their minds and hearts, visit them in the night, speak to them in dreams and visions and let them know that You Who Sit Enthroned Above the Heavens is keeping record of the deeds of every man’s heart and will reward accordingly!

Father, we’re trusting You to release a sudden downpour of Divine Favor upon each and every one of Your children who are challenged by seemingly time-sensitive situations such as marital relationships, wayward children, loneliness, financial, employment and promotion issues, approvals of student/car/home loans! Assure them that YOU are Jehovah Jareh, who shall supply all of their need according to Your Riches in Glory!

Father, we declare and decree that every demonic-induced spirit of addiction, perversion, poverty, doubt, failure, inadequacy and fear is defeated NOW because of Your Anointing and that the Spirit of Love, Power, Wisdom, Purpose and Prosperity is being released into every area of the lives of Your people now, in Jesus Name!

Lord Jesus, as we close our prayer, we confidently await Your Salvation in peace and quietness, rejoicing in hope and trusting wholly that all workers of iniquity are trembling, suddenly departing in shameful defeat, recognizing that You have heard the voice of our weeping, our supplications and received our prayer as a sweet savor coming up before Your Sovereign Throne of Grace and Mercy!

Abba Father, as Your Face shines upon us, we shout with joy unto The One to Whom EVERY MAN will bow in obedient reverence, The Hope of all the Ages!

I know that it’s uncomfortable and disconcerting to many, howeverrrr in the midst of our seemingly helplessness, and in a lot of cases, our hopelessness, I jus believe that some more bodies need to step up to the plate and acknowledge the HUMONGUS pink elephant in the room! After all, what else do we have to lose, right? So let me preface the rest of this writing with a disclosure! NOT FOR THE BLIND AND FAINT OF HEART!

Not surprising to some and yet debatable to others, we’re living in a duplicitous society! As the Great Prophet and Scribe, Bill Adkins, whom I dearly honor and respect, recently said, “What we thought could not happen, has happened! An American Pharaoh has been elected!”

Make no mistake about it!  Sequestered behind the supposedly-secretiveness of the voting booths America has shown it’s true colors! And I’m not talking about the red, white and blue! Many of my brown brothers and sisters, awakened that morning to hear the shocking news that our greatest fears had been realized, while many others whose hearts, once embittered by racism, now openly rejoiced ecstatically at the overwhelming successful enterprise of the most unlikely-least-qualified candidate in the history of AMERICA, The Land of The Beautiful! As David Duke, the former KKK Grand Wizard proudly tweeted, “This is one of the most exciting nights of my life. Make no mistake about it! Our people have played a huge role in electing Trump”!

Under the robes of political-ism, record numbers of white Americans flocked to the polls to elect their 21st Century Maverick of Law and Order, expressing their true sentiments and endorsing his brazen boldness to say out-loud what was usually constricted to the reclusiveness of like-minded-like-looking- folk and a few misguided-conditioned-blacks! Without the aid of bumper stickers and yard-signs, their encoded hypocritical message was blatantly published nation-wide from the board room, thru the court rooms and YESSS to the church houses, “Let’s Make America Great Again! “ OH NO SHE DIDN’T! YESSS I DID!!!

Unfortunately, while we were laughing, scratching our heads and throwing up our hands at the absurdity, the so-called real Americans were mobilizing to repeal and replace the advancements of other than White Americans and rectify the ultimate humiliation of having a Black man (and his family) (having been elected twice), residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue! Subsequently, in the aftermath of  what many hope to be the end of our beginning, we’re now forced to reconcile the once incomprehensible reality of the State of Black America under a Trump presidency!

Nevertheless, what’s some have failed to consider is that while we honor the excruciating pain of the back-breaking sacrifices endured by our fore-fathers and mothers, to ensure that the seed would prevail, allowing us to get here, we are not our Great-Grand-Father’s! Believe it or not,  the 21st Century Afro-American is a entirely new breed who refuses to bow in humble obeisance and accept the ‘yes saa massar’ self-engrandizing manipulation sociology and philosophy of the former slave masters. Don’t let our College degrees, zip codes, Red-bottom shoes, Michael Kors handbags and our Brioni ‘Ludovisi suits fool ya! The Truth of the matter is, we no longer feel the need to apologize for what the Hand of God has done for us!

Contrary to populist partisan fake news, all of us ain’t willing to take a bribe or go along just to get along! Undeniably, every white man ain’t a fascist bigot, every Muslim ain’t a terrorist, every Latino ain’t a drug-dealing-gang-banger and every so-called Christian ain’t a saint! Nevertheless, the truly born-again-blood-washed-Holy Ghost-sanctified believers, still believe that the God we love and serve is yet able to rescue and deliver us from captivity! Even in the worst of times, He’s proven GODSELF to be a GOOD GOD! TRUST2KNOW, The same God who kept us in the midst of JIM CROW is well able to keep us through the tyranny of JAMES CROW, ESQ.! Hence,  for our God abideth Faithful, Loving and Just!

While we’ve been instructed to pray for the leaders of our nation that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity, (Ref. 1 Timothy 2:2) it does not negate the fact that God watches over the righteous to preserve the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. (Ref. Psalm 31:23)

Remember, nothing happens that takes GOD by surprise! And Saints, nothing happens that GOD does not allow! Could this grand-debauchery be a Clarion Call from The Throne Room of Heaven TO WAKE UP AMERICA?

WHATZ THE MATTER ZION? THIS AIN’T UR 1st RODEO! We’re IN this world, but we’re not OF this world! As we walk to the beat of a different drummer, we pledge our allegiance to The KING OF KINGS and the LORD OF LORDS! AMEN?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Ain’t no time to give up! We ain’t in heaven yet! WE’VE COME THIS FAR BY FAITH, LEANING ON THE LORD! AND AMERICA IS OUR COUNTRY TOO!  In the midst of our frustration we must remember what the ol’ skool saints said, PUSH! Pray Until Something Happens! ANYBODY STILL BELIEVE IN THE EFFECTUAL FERVENT PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS RELEASES TREMENDOUS POWER TO THOSE WHO TRUST IN THE LORD? #ijs

Regardless of who’s in The White House, GOD still LIVES IN OUR HOUSE! WAKE UP ZION AND LET’S MAKE AMERICA RIGHT AGAIN!!!

“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at anytime we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation which at the first began to be spoken by the lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.” Hebrews 2:1-3

One morning during my devotion, the Lord began speaking to me about The Millennium Church Age. At this point in my walk with Jesus, needless to say, I’ve heard many a message preached about the Church of God down through the years! Gratefully, much has been pontification of the Glorious and Victorious Church as well as those that admonish the people of God concerning the goats and the sheep and the wheat and the tare. However, I must confess I was a bit surprised when God began to talk to me about a different threat (either unnoticed or unacknowledged) that has slipped under the radar of nodding watchmen into the Kingdom. He asked, “Have you heard the one about the ‘drifters and the disciples?”

After thinking for a moment, I responded “No, Lord. I don’t recall hearing that one.” Honestly, my mind went ‘back in da day’, remembering the Drifters, that group of fine black men, dressed to da T and sanng’n those ‘Good ol’ slow songs’! For the 30 and under crew, u betta ask ya Mama!

Abruptly bringing me back from the edge of Egypt, God began to reveal to me, “Oh yes! You’ve heard about them. They may have been called ‘Backsliders’ instead!’

Okay! I know about the backsliders! But, when church folk think of a backslider, what generally comes to mind are those wicked ol’ evil rebellious hypocrites, aka that heathen who has turned his back and walked away from the Lord and the Church. In other words, we’ve categorized them as somebody who didn’t really love the Lord, at least not as much as he loved the world. Right?  HOWEVERRR! The Lord, allowing me to peep into His thoughts for a moment, led me to Webster’s Dictionary to look up the word ‘drift’ to discover that Webster defines it several ways, but here are a few that Holy Spirit highlighted:

“To be carried along by a current of air or water; to pile up or to heap, to move or appear to move aimlessly, go along without knowing or caring where one is going; the sideways movement of an aircraft or ship off it’s projected course due to cross currents.”

OMG!  #Didjaheardat? First of all, you don’t have to leave the church at all to backslide! You can become a drifter sitting front row, center aisle, or back row, far left and yes, truthfully, center stage of the pulpiteers!  #WOW! That ol’ devil is as cunning and subtle in 2017 as ever, huh?

Satan knows he can’t just blatantly confront some of us face 2 face with the lies that have been proven so successful among the babes in Christ. You know; like, “I don’t need to go to church; I can read my bible at home (the bedside Baptist)”; or “who says you have to belong to a church to serve God?” What about this one, “Get with the times! Don’t be so narrow-minded; after all there are all kinds of roads that lead to the Universal god, you know The Higher Power!”  #BOOM!

Therefore, he applies another method to bring down the more seasoned saints. Unfortunately, all too often they’re just as lethal and successful! Satan hurls wicked devices (distractions) into our lives to catch us off guard and sidetrack us from our true mission! A little trouble here; a trial there; a threat here lodging a bit of anxiety there; an ominous sense of foreboding fear here; a dip of delay, denial and disappointment there; a letter here and a phone call there, a rumor here and a lie there; a modest competitive spirit there or a root of resentment and rejection here!  Didjaseedat? Who nu?

The scariest part about drifting is that you rarely recognize that you’ve moved at all! It’s not as if you were swept away from the shore by some gi-normous wave; you didn’t even hear the thunder or see the lightening flashing. In fact you never felt the ground collapsing underfoot. One minute, there you were sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the tides rolling—you thought you had it all together, handling thangs, maintaining! Until… you reached for that dose of The Holy Ghost and discovered that your cup was empty and your subscription had run out! Apparently, somewhere along the trip, we got so busy with other ‘real-life-stuff’ at the expense of your personal, intimate time with Jesus! Unbeknownst to you, you’d become weary in your well-doing and unconsciously decided that it don’t take all that!

Tell somebody it takes all that and more! More prayer, more fasting, more wisdom, knowledge and understanding of his word, more praising, and a whole lot more His Grace to stay anchored in The Lord!

But here’s the ultimate catastrophic fatality, when all hell breaks out in your life, we tend to look at Godc, ross-eyed, and place the blame for our circumstances on HIM!  Of course, we’ll most likely not own up to such brazen charges again our Redeemer, howeverrrr buried down in the seat of our being, we whisper “Lord, if  You  REALLY love me like You said, why did You let this happen to me?”  #BOOM  We’ve swalled Satan’s bait and the seeds of doubt have taken root  producing a crop of accusations, distrust and unbelief!  #canIgetagoodAMEN3X? OK, maybe not, huh?

TRUTH BE TOLD, God can’t lie and God can’t fail!  If He said, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU, NOR FORSAKE YOU, NEVER” THEN IT STANDS TO REASON, GOD NEVER MOVED!  (Ref. Hebrew 13:5)
Precious Ones, with all that’s going on in the world around us, it’s incumbent upon each one of us to not make light of the lessons to be learned from The Apostle Paul’s teaching! Hence, make a real earnest commitment to BE a true disciple of Jesus Christ. GET A GRIP ON THE MASTER’S HAND AND HOLD ON AS IF YOUR VERY LIFE DEPENDED UPON IT! BCUZ IT DOES!
