IT’S THE GOD IN ME!

ITZ THE GOD IN ME

SELAH Daily Devotions!

And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know Him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17

Looking back through the lenses of 21st Century influence, we see that since the birth of The New Testament Church it has been plagued with  external and  interal controversy!  While most Biblical scholars agree that the Church was born on The Day of Pentecost, generally that’s where the consensus begins and ends.

According to The Scriptures, The Risen Savior showed Himself to His disciples, who were still reeling from the horrific events that had just taken place, and instructed them “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptised with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit”. Acts 1:4-5

God knew how much the disciples had come to rely upon Jesus’s Presence during the past 3 ½ years He’d walked with them, teaching, guiding and protecting them but now at Christ’s Ascension, would fall victim to their fears, confusion and discouragement!  Although, Jesus had on numerous occasions assured them that He would not leave them without Divine Assistance, but promised to send them another Comforter in the person of Holy Spirit to empower them to complete their assignment to spread The Message of Christ throughout the whole world–this revelation seems to have escaped them in the ensuing threat of impending persecution!

What is this PROMISE?  The Holy Spirit is known as the third person of The Triune God! While The Holy Spirit functions differently from God The Father and God The Son, He is reverenced as equal in Holiness in The God-Head!

Beloved, as a believer in The Saving Grace of Lord Jesus, God has given us the very samePromise. The moment we make a sincere profession of faith, The Holy Spirit moves into our hearts and fills us with hope, conviction and confidence that we are now a part of God’s Family, a Royal-Priesthood, a Holy Nation! (Ref. 1 Peter 2:9)

However, this is only the beginning! Along with this regeneration (the new birth) comes a challenge and a charge! As a born-again-blood-washed Child of The Kingdom, we are called to be ambassadors of our King to a lost and dying world! Therefore, we also need to be filled and empowered with the enabling Grace and Authority of the indwelling Spirit of Jesus in order to do The Father’s Will and glorify Him in the earth! C’mon nah, don’t shout me down!

Just as the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the disciples in the Upper Room, God wants each of us to experience this same anointing! (Ref. 2:1-4) Unfortunately, NOT EVERYONE accepts this spectacular gift that God promised to as many who would receive Him! Yet, this does not preclude any one from partaking of the fullfilment of The Promise! (Ref. Mark 7:13)

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people…” Acts 2:17

While it’s not my intention to persuade any away from their affirmation, as Martin Luther, “I cannot in good consciousience deny my own personal experience!” Therefore, I can stand firmly fixed in humily with adoration proclaiming, ‘There is absolutely no doubt in my heart nor mind, that any good that I do, any wisdom that I have, any knowledge that I’ve gained, any challenge that I’ve overcome over these past 30 years of walking in Christ, is a direct result of ‘The God in me’!

There is no way for mere man to live the HOLY abundant life as prescribed in The Word without the counsel, guidance, and help  of the indwelling navigation of Holy Spirit! And isn’t that what God expects of all of us? Revolutionary, huh?

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Colossians 1:27)

WOW!  IF YOU SUPPLY THE SACRIFICE, HE SUPPLIES THE FIRE! IT’S ALL GOD IN US!

SINGLE VISION

SINGLE VISION

SELAH Daily Devotions!

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
(Matthew 6:22-23)

Have you seen that optical illusion photo of Jesus where you’re instructed to stare at the four dots continuously for about a minute, then look away to the light and watch the darkness evaporate revealing The Face of Jesus?

DID YOU SEE HIM YET… still too dark, huh?

Belief it or not, that’s a challenge for most believers? I mean, seriously! How can we be expected to focus on The Light of the World, when we are constantly encompassed and distracted by such gross darkness? As with most of the things Our Heavenly Father expects of us, it’s not always easy, yet if we make a conscious effort to disciple ourselves, it is possible!

We must stick  to the Living Word of Truth; not just on crisis days, but every day; as if our very lives depended upon it. And it does! Beloved, remember we’re strangers sojourning through this life on our way to a Glorious Family Reunion. (Ref. John 17:16) Jesus prayed to The Father that He would keep us in this world until He’s sent again to fully restore us to The Kingdom. Knowing fully well that we’d be hated by His enemies, just like He was while he walked this earth; Jesus asked The Father to put HIS Light in us to ensure that His followers would never be without His Presence. (Ref. John 17:15; Matthew 5:14)

The Apostle John wrote, “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. “ (1 John 1:7)

Remember, thou weary one, you are God’s Chosen! Despite the random patches of darkness, we are never abandoned. Jesus guaranteed that there will always be just enough light to guide us through these momentary afflictions! (Ref. Hebrew 13:5)

DON’T TRIP! STAY FOCUSED ON THE SON LIGHT! THAT’S RIGHT…SINGLE-VISION!

HE’S IN THERE!

SELAH Daily Devotions!

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)

Life happens, so you don’t always feel like jumping over rafters, but your salvation is not based on feelings, but faith! Thank God! When you just take a moment to think about your new relationship with Jesus, it just blows your mind!

The reality, that since we’ve accepted Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord, resurrection life has taken up permanent residence in our mortal bodies is almost unbelievable! Oh yeah, we never have to worry about having to meander through this life on our own. We’re now full of the Resurrection Life of God! WOW!

By faith we know, just like Prego, everything we need pertaining to life and godliness is in there! However, I must caution you. Be ware of those pesty lil “life suckers” that can severely restrict the outpouring of your new resurrection life. Particularly, pride, greed, selfishness and disobedience!

Even though you are born again, habitual sin can cause the resurrection life to become covert or undeveloped. But that’s why God sent Holy Spirit to live in us! God knew that left to our innately human limitations, it would be virtually impossible to live the God-Honoring life that pleases Him. Hence, the Holy Ghost empowers you from the inside out to overcome sin and walk in the newness of HIS Life!

Included in your salvation benefits package is the sin-clause! Sin no longer has dominion over you. (Romans 6:14) The more time spent building your relationship with Jesus, studying God’s Word and communing with Him in prayer, Holy Spirit strengthens you to put sin right where it belongs, trapped under your feet.

Unlike your previous Hard-Task-Master, Satan, Holy Spirit never forces His will on us, but graciously waits for us to choose to do the right thing then strengthens us to walk in the spirit instead of being controlled by the dictates of our lust-filled carnal flesh. And we all know how that turns out, huh?

Beloved, Christ never intended us to be bound by fear, guilt and shame, but free to enjoy life everyday filled to the brim, overflowing with confident trust, assurance and fellowship, empowered by His Presence, Joy and Peace! Now datz a mouthful, huh? BUT? #didjaheardat? (Ref. John 8:36)

Personally, one of the greatest benefits of this resurrected life is you no longer have to struggle trying to change yourself! The Christ-Regenerated Life in you affirms your resolve that as ‘I deny myself, spend time in The Word and prayer, I can do all things with the help of Holy Spirit!’ Awemaazing, huh? (Ref. Philippians 4:13)

Go ahead with ur righteous self! Walk in the Resurrected Life! It’s okay, HE’s in there!
